Watch: Reece James throws Patrick Bamford to the floor after tussle

Reece James isn’t afraid to throw his weight around, and the Chelsea right-back made his presence felt on Patrick Bamford during the Blues’ 3-1 victory over Leeds United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday night.

Former Chelsea striker Bamford put Leeds ahead early on, only for goals from Olivier Giroud, Kurt Zouma and Christian Pulisic to seal all three points for the hosts.

James impressed throughout, providing the assist for Giroud’s equaliser with the type of pinpoint assist that has earned him the nickname ‘The Cobham Cafu‘.

And the 20-year-old’s physicality once again came to the fore.

Earlier this season, Graeme Souness loved watching James treat Sheffield United’s Max Lowe “like a rag doll”, and the England international was happy to do the same with Bamford after tussling for the ball with the forward.

Don’t worry, Patrick, at least you’re not the first to suffer this fate, and you almost certainly won’t be the last.
