Watch: Rob Holding sends Sadio Mane flying with crunching shoulder

Arsenal may have given Liverpool a guard of honour onto the pitch on Wednesday night, but the niceties ended there as the Gunners left their mark on the newly-crowned champions.

Still reeling from defeat to Tottenham in the north London derby at the weekend, Arsenal went behind after 20 minutes as Sadio Mane opened the scoring for Liverpool.

Criticised for their lack of resilience in recent weeks, Arsenal stunned the visitors with quick-fire goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Reiss Nelson, although both were gifted by mistakes from Virgil van Dijk and Alisson.

But Rob Holding typified Arsenal’s improved fight with a crunching challenge that sent Mane hurtling to the ground. Holding, who loomed over Mane afterwards, actually won the free-kick in the Gunners’ favour.
