Thierry Henry says it is impossible for him to get excited by Arsenal after their 3-0 defeat to Manchester City in the League Cup final.
Henry was at Wembley to witness a lacklustre Arsenal crumble against the Premier League’s champions-elect, and he described the feeling around the club at the moment.
“Take the games against West Ham, Palace and Everton, my phone was ringing all over the place,” Henry said.
“And I want to get excited. I want to go, ‘Oh yeah we’re back on track,’ but then you get the Bournemouth game, and then you get the Swansea game.
“You find yourself in a situation where you want to get excited, but you can’t really get excited too much, you can’t shout too loud.
“You need to be honest about what you see. Right now, you see greatness – sometimes. But more often than not, you don’t see it.”
