Watch: Three Newcastle players ask for Ronaldo’s shirt after his Man Utd debut

Cristiano Ronaldo celebrates scoring against Newcastle. September 11 2021.

Manchester United star Cristiano endured an awkward moment at the end of his second Red Devil’s debut on Saturday when he turned down three different Newcastle players who wanted to swap shirts with him following the final whistle.

Ronaldo, who enjoyed a dream return to Old Trafford last weekend – scoring two goals as United thrashed the Magpies 4-1 – appeared somewhat frustrated as a string of opposition players approached him in search of his jersey following the game’s climax.

Despite their best attempts, Newcastle players Isaac Hayden, Jamaal Lascelles and Joelinton were all unsuccessful in retrieving the Portuguese star’s top with the forward leaving the pitch with United’s famous No.7 shirt still on his back.

It was, however, still a joyous afternoon for the 36-year-old, who’s man of the match performance helped send United to the top of the Premier League for the first time this season.
