Watch: Timo Werner has a nightmare to probably deny Olivier Giroud goal

Timo Werner is a man who has already brought moments of excitement to Chelsea fans since moving to Stamford Bridge from RB Leipzig.
In the game against Leeds United, he has now provided them with a miss that will have supporters and neutrals alike scratching their heads wondering how on earth he didn’t score.
It was the sort of situation where it seemed harder for the German to miss than to get the ball into the back of the net – yet Illan Meslier’s goal was not breached.
There has been discussion about whether Olivier Giroud’s original effort would go in, but the Frenchman showed his fellow attacker how it’s done when he converted from Reece James’ cross into the box later in the first half.
There is no doubt that Werner is a talented player, but the 24-year-old has had an absolute shocker with this effort.
The cheers from the stands quickly transforming into confused groans tells the entire story here – it’s lovely having fans back in stadiums.
