Watch: Van Dijk appears to mock Man Utd fans after Liverpool win

Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk

Along with every Liverpool fan in the world, Virgil van Dijk enjoyed their historic 5-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday.

Van Dijk started alongside fellow centre-back Ibrahima Konate but had a relatively quiet game as Liverpool’s attacking players stole the show.

Naby Keita broke the deadlock in the fifth minute before some poor defending from Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw allowed Diogo Jota to double Liverpool’s lead.

Mohamed Salah refused to be sidelined and scored a 12-minute hat-trick, becoming the first opposition player to score three goals at Old Trafford in a single Premier League game.

It was Liverpool’s biggest ever victory away against United and Van Dijk appeared to remind United fans of the full-time score, holding up five fingers in front of the Stretford End.

“This group always wanted to write their own little chapters in the big, big history book of this club,” Jurgen Klopp said after the game. “This one was a little one tonight, a little chapter. People will talk about it in the future because it will not happen very often if it happens again at all.”
