Watch: Zinchenko’s stunned reaction to Saliba’s brilliant goal
Arsenal continued their superb start to the 2022-23 season with a 3-0 victory against Bournemouth. One of the highlights was William Saliba’s stunning finish – and Oleksandr Zinchenko’s hilarious, stunned reaction.
There’s a great deal of positivity around the Gunners at present, and it’s not difficult to see why. The new faces appear to have elevated Mikel Arteta’s side to a new level.
The travelling fans were in fine voice in the sunshine down on the south coast, serenading Saliba and Zinchenko with new chants.
Saliba, 21, was signed by Arsenal back in 2019 but this is the first time he’s featured for the club, having been loaned out back to France over the past couple of seasons.
He’s made a superb start to the new season and has helped to bolster the Gunners backline alongside new signing Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Arsenal produced an all-round dominant performance away to Bournemouth, racing into an early two-goal lead thanks to a brace from Martin Odegaard.
Saliba capped off the win with a stunning finish into the far corner midway through the second half. Zinchenko was all of us when watching it float into the back of the net – putting his hands on his head with a stunned reaction.
“It was really solid from start to the end. We came out and dominated, made some good chances and scored some good goals,” club captain Martin Odegaard told Sky Sports.
“We know itโs always difficult coming to these places. We have struggled before but we were so sharp and aggressive. It was a good performance from start to finish.”
“Compared to last season we are a little bit ahead but we have to stay calm and we have to stay humble and see where it takes us.”
Arsenal are top of the table and have maintained their 100% start to the season. It’s a stark contrast to last term when they lost their opening three games.
