Endrick in action for Palmeiras

The 10 most valuable players in the Brazilian Serie A: Endrick, Andre…

The Brazilian Serie A is stacked with young talents and stars from Santos, Flamengo and Athletico Paranaense are among the 10 most valuable players in the league.

Over the last few decades, the likes of Neymar, Ronaldinho and Rivaldo made a name for themselves in the Brazilian top flight before they took their game to the next level in Europe.

Using figures from Transfermarkt, we have found the 10 most valuable players currently playing in the Brazilian Serie A and there are plenty of wonderkids that make an appearance.

10. Andre – £12.85million

The tough-tackling Brazilian midfielder has already garnered plenty of interest from some top European sides. The 22-year-old has racked up 164 appearances for Fluminense and he’s already a fully-fledged Brazil international.

Liverpool have been hot on the heels of Andre for some time now, but the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham have also been linked with the Fluminense star of late.

Transfermarkt have given him a market value of £12.85million, although it will likely take a significantly higher figure to get him out of Brazil as his current contract is until 2026.

9. Gerson – £12.85million

Gerson returned to Brazil in December last year, following stints in Europe with Roma and Marseille. The 26-year-old has a good eye for goal and has chipped in with 17 goal contributions from midfield since his return to Flamengo.

8. Raphael Veiga – £13.7million

Palmeiras are just one game away from sealing the league title and Veiga has played a key role. The attacking midfielder has five goals and eight assists in the league and has been a key cog in Abel Ferreira’s side.

Since making the move to Palmeiras in 2017, Veiga has been involved in 113 goals which is a sublime return for an attacking midfielder. It’s no wonder he ranks among the league’s most valuable players.

7. Yuri Alberto – £13.7million

West Ham reportedly held talks with Corinthians over the summer regarding Alberto, but the move didn’t materialise in the end. Given his impressive showings in Brazil, it’s no wonder the Hammers were interested.

The 22-year-old forward has scored 15 goals across all competitions this season and his long-term future is still up in the air. Watch this space.

6. Giorgian de Arrascaeta – £14.56million

The Uruguayan attacking midfielder continues to produce the goods for Flamengo. Since moving to the club in 2019, he has chipped in with 139 goal contributions in 230 matches which is some return.

5. Marcos Leonardo – £14.56million

Having rapidly risen through the ranks at Santos, it’s hard not to get excited about Leonardo right now. The 20-year-old forward has already scored 54 career goals and has been linked with plenty of top European sides of late.

According to the player’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, a move in the January window is very feasible with the likes of Arsenal, Man Utd, Newcastle and West Ham all reportedly interested.

“Already in the previous transfer market he had the possibility of being sold, but Santos’ sporting situation was very particular,” Pimenta explained.

“He agreed to stay because he wanted to help out until the end of the championship. He didn’t want to leave because it wasn’t the right thing to do. But the time has come to move. He wants to have a European experience and his time will come this winter.”

4. Gabriel Barbosa – £17.13million

Barbosa is one of the most prolific players the Brazilian Serie A has ever seen. Across 319 games for Santos and Flamengo, Barbosa has scored a whopping 188 goals.

While his previous stint in Europe with Inter Milan didn’t exactly go to plan, some top sides have been linked with the 27-year-old of late. The Daily Mirror recently claimed that Manchester United are one of the clubs keeping tabs on the forward who is out of contract in 2024.

3. Pedro – £18.84million

Flamengo fans will be happy that they have Pedro tied down until 2027 after the forward penned a fresh deal at the start of the year. Across all competitions, the 26-year-old scored 35 goals this season which has been his most prolific campaign to date.

2. Endrick – £21.41million

The 17-year-old is set to sign for Real Madrid in 2024 and we couldn’t be more excited. Since his debut in 2022, people from across the globe have been aware of Endrick’s potential and he now seems ready to take the Santiago Bernabeu by storm.

Don’t just take out word for it either.

1. Vitor Roque – £27.4million

However, Endrick is just pipped to the top spot by Roque – who we are equally excited about. The Athletico Paranaense teenage sensation has scored 21 goals across all competitions this season and is only just getting started.

Barcelona reached an agreement with the 18-year-old in the summer which will see him join the club in January. With Roque at Barcelona and Endrick at Real Madrid, El Clasico is about to get very tasty.
